Resident Evil 6 sells 675K copies in Japan in week 1

While Vita crosses the one million sales milestone

Resident Evil 6 sold 675,000 copies in Japan in its first week of availability.

The PS3 version of Capcom's game shifted 635,000 copies to debut atop the weekly software chart, while the Xbox 360 edition moved a further 42,000 to place at No.5.

Fellow new releases World Soccer Winning Eleven 2013, Summon Night 3 and Sol Trigger were sandwiched between the two versions of Resi 6, according to Media Create sales data republished on NeoGAF.

3DS, PS3 and PSP all outsold Vita during the week in question, although Sony's latest handheld did finally top one million sales in Japan, having launched in the country last December.
