Burnout will return, Criterion says

A development executive at Guildford studio Criterion has claimed that the group will return to Burnout franchise at a later date.
In an interview with The Guardian, creative director Craig Sullivan said "there's still a lot we want to do with driving and we will make another Burnout game at some point".
He added: "Obviously, as we're working on NFS we're thinking of really good ideas that aren't right for this series; there are ideas that we're going to explore with Burnout."
When Sullivan was asked if he could remake any other classic series, Sullivan hinted at Road Rash. "When we did Burnout Paradise we did some motorbike DLC and now everyone thinks that we're going to do a Road Rash game at some point. I had a lot of fun playing that game, we think bikes are fun. We might make a Road Rash game...But we might make a game without vehicles in it. I mean, we made Black, I was the lead designer - we might make a game about blowing the crap out of each other."
While another Burnout appears to be highly likely, a Road Rash game might not be quite as set in stone, but Sullivan did conclude with these hopeful words: "Road Rash seems like a good fit for Criterion."
Need for Speed: Most Wanted - Criterion's latest in the series - is out in November, but while you wait, you can read our preview right here!
