Nintendo of America has detailed a Wii U digital promotion that offers a 10 per cent return on digital game purchases - but only Wii U Deluxe Set owners will be eligible.
Purchasing digital titles from the Wii U eShop via a Deluxe console will earn you points to the value of 10 per cent of the eShop price - (so a $59.99 spend will get you 599 points). For every 500 points you earn Nintendo will issue you with a code worth $5 in credit for use on the eShop store (on 3DS or Wii U).
Points will be earned on all digital purchases made on a Wii U Deluxe Set from November 18, 2012, until December 31, 2014.
Nintendo will launch a Deluxe Digital Promotion website in December, where eligible users will be able to keep track of their point totals and receive codes for Nintendo eShop credit by logging in with their Nintendo Network ID and password.
The Wii U Deluxe Set costs $349.99 and includes a 32GB black Wii U and accessories with a copy of Nintendo Land.
The Basic Set, which comes with an 8GB white Wii U and no games, costs $299.99, but will not be eligible for the digital promotion. Wii U hits US shops on November 18.
Nintendo made no mention of carrying this or a similar promotion in EU regions.
Nintendo has confirmed a Wii U release date of November 30 in Europe, with a starting of £230.
