Developed by veteran racing games studio Criterion, the latest entry in the long-running Need for Speed series has been well received by critics, with the likes of Edge saying it sets "a new standard in open-world driving games with a seamless feast of quality".
Our own Need for Speed: Most Wanted review describes the game as "ambitious", "beautiful" and "dangerously exhilarating".
We've captured a video of the first 12 minutes of the game, which explains your primary goal (getting to the top of the Most Wanted list) and offers an introduction to the basics of driving.
The first race you take part in is a simple one-on-one sprint race called Keys to the City, in which you're challenged to reach the finish line ahead of your opponent. You earn Speed Points which take you up the Most Wanted list - and unlock car mods like Off Road Tires and Burn Nitrous - based on your performance.
Additionally the video shows off Easy Drive, a new in-game tool operated via the D-pad that handily stitches together features like mission selection and car customisation.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is out now on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Vita, Android and iOS. It's also headed to Wii U in 2013.
