Namco Bandai's first half profit up 116%

Namco Bandai has posted strong financial results for the first half of its financial year ended September 30, 2012.

Net sales were up 14.6 per cent year over year to 223 billion yen (£1.7b), while net income leapt 115.8 per cent to 17.3 billion yen (134m).

The Japanese publisher said Tekken Tag Tournament 2 sold 840,000 units between its September 11 launch and the end of the month.

Soul Calibur 5 moved 680,000 units in the fiscal first half, taking its lifetime total to 1,380,000. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generation shifted 550,000 copies, bringing its total to 1,010,000.
