5000 playable Wii U demo kiosks hit US stores

Nintendo invites gamers to give its new GamePad a try

Nintendo wants gamers to go hands-on with Wii U's unique new GamePad controller before its release later this month.

The platform holder has announced the distribution of 5000 playable Wii U demo kiosks to stores across the US, and invites gamers to give it a try.

Kiosks will be perched in participating Target, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart and Toys 'R' Us stores, although you should probably give them a call before rushing out.

The demo stations will house a variety of gameplay demos or specially-created video content - although the offerings may vary from one kiosk to another.

Games such as Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U, SiNG PARTY, ZombiU and Rayman Legends are among those that are being showcased.

Nintendo has confirmed a Wii U release date of November 18 in the US, and November 30 in Europe.
