EA's Origin integrates Twitch TV for live broadcasting

Update to PC games portal also allows customers to add non-Origin games to the service

Electronic Arts is rolling out a new update to its PC games platform Origin that will allow users to broadcast live gameplay on the fly.

The publisher's partnership with popular games streaming firm Twitch means that Origin users can turn their gameplay into live footage with "just a few clicks of your mouse".

Also added to the new update is the option to add non-Origin games to the platform, along with various UI tweaks and optimisations.

In a statement to its community, EA said that "helpful suggestions and feedback" from its customer base have driven many of the changes in the new update.

During an investor call early in November, EA revealed that more than 30 million customers had registered with Origin, with about 70 games studios sell their games through the platform.
