Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that Rainbow 6: Patriots is still in development, and that it may release on next-gen consoles.
Speaking to Polygon, Guiillemot alleviated fears the game had been dropped following the departure of leading developers in March and the ensuing silence surrounding the title.
"The only thing I can say is that we have a good team working on it, and it's really looking good," he said. "So when it will come, it will surprise the industry."
Guillemot also said there was "a good chance" the title could appear on next-generation consoles.
It's been eight months since any news has emerged on Patriots. It was announced in March that Heavy Rain designer Jean-Sebastien Decant had replaced David Sears as creative director. The last official trailer was released in December 2011.
