Director confirmed for Deus Ex: Human Revolution film adaptation

Scott Derrickson to take the reins

Following the announcement yesterday that Tom Hardy will star in a forthcoming Splinter Cell film, comes details on a screenplay for Deus Ex: Human Revolution.


According to a report by Deadline, CBS films has signed Sinister director Scott Derrickson to direct a Deus Ex film adaptation.

The report claims that both Derrickson and co-writer Robert Cargill completed the 2011 Square Enix title before they confirmed their involvement.

In a statement, Derrickson expressed enthusiasm for the project. "Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence," he said.

"By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie."
