A report from US retailer GameStop reveals that it has received 1.2 million preorders for Wii U launch titles, which is double what was taken for the Wii back in 2006.
It's no surprise that the Wii U has a stronger line-up of launch titles than the Wii did six years ago, and the numbers don't lie.
Gamasutra reports that the US retailer GameStop has sold 1.2 million preorders for Wii U launch titles, on top of selling out the 500,000 Wii U consoles it was allocated for pre-order almost immediately after they went on sale in September.
The titles leading the pre-orders are ZombiU, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Assassin's Creed III, Scribblenauts Unlimited and New Super Mario Bros. U.
In terms of numbers, it means that customers are preordering 2.4 games with every console pre-order, which according to Nintendo is more than double what it saw with the Wii launch.
