Black Ops 2: PS3 patch targets lock-up/freeze issues

But Activision says the update doesn't fix problems for all players

Activision has released a patch for the PS3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 designed to address console lock-ups and freezes.

"However," the company said, "we are aware that some customers are still experiencing PS3 lock-ups after installing the patch and we are doing everything we can to get to the bottom of it as quickly as possible.

"Our entire team... will continue to work tirelessly to get this issue resolved and get you back in the game," Activision added.

Users need simply boot up Black Ops 2 and sign in to play online for the patch to install automatically.

PS3 issues reported include but are not limited to:

  • Entering a public multiplayer lobby and observing a system lock-up
  • Entering a public multiplayer lobby and receiving the error, "An error occurred while trying to find a session, please try again"
