New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be getting six classic Mario levels as free DLC, Nintendo has confirmed.
The 'Golden Classic Course' was revealed by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during another surprise Nintendo Direct presentation. It is being released to celebrate the fact that 300 billion coins have now been collected in the game.
Currently, Nintendo has only confirmed the levels will be available in Japan
The DLC includes remade versions of 1-1, 1-2 and 1-4 from Super Mario Bros, in addition to 1-1 and 1-5 from Super Mario Bros 3. Each level features secret routes which take players into another classic area.
The pack will be available for free for Japanese players to download between November 27 and January 1, after which it will cost 200 Yen.
In our New Super Mario Bros. 2 review we said the game can be completed in a weekend "but the challenges will keep you plugging away for months."
