Wii Mini: Retailer posts first image, December release date
27th Nov 2012 | 10:45
The previously rumoured Wii Mini has been spotted on Best Buy's Canadian website, with a release date of December 7.
[UPDATE: Nintendo has officially announced the Wii Mini for Canada. Hit the link for full details.]
Best Buy's homepage features the picture to the right and the following text: "Introducing the Wii Mini. Coming Dec 7, 2012."
There's a link to pre-order the system but it's currently not working, and a price has yet to be attached to the product.
The image indicates that the compact console will be available in a red and black model.
If the dimensions in the picture are accurate, based on the measurements of a Wii remote, the console's face appears to be roughly the same width as and slightly taller than that of a standard DVD case.
It was reported earlier this week that Wii Mini will be bundled with a Wii sensor bar, Nunchuk and Wii Remote Plus.
A Nintendo UK representative told us yesterday that the company doesn't comment on rumour and speculation. Expect an official announcement soon.
