Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed DLC may be determined by fans

Decision still remains in Sega's hands, though

Fans on Sega's official forum have agreed on three potential DLC characters for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, after Steve Lycett of Sumo Digital, the game's developer, posted a challenge.

Days before the game was released, the official Sega forum was filled with fans suggesting characters they want to see as future DLC for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed.

Steve Lycett entered the discussion and gave the fans one simple challenge:

Without any policing from the SUMO or SEGA crew, if you can all agree on three characters by the 1st of December and prove there is sufficient interest of at least 1000 unique people *per* character, I will present the result to SEGA. I can't promise anything will happen as a result, but since you're starting it...

Let's see if you can organise yourselves in the next few weeks to pull that off!

And so the fans did exactly that. With two days still to go before the December 1st deadline, fans have voted for Hatsune Miku, the Sega Saturn mascot Segata Sanshiro and Ryo Hazuki, all of which have reached over 2,000 votes each.

Still, Lycett stated originally that he can't "promise anything will happen as a result," but there is always a chance that Sega will agree, especially since the challenge has been met.
