Wii U: Amazon replacing missing Nintendo Land copies with codes

Retailer says "small number" of UK buyers affected by "supplier error"

Amazon is distributing Nintendo Land download codes to Wii U buyers who received their console without the advertised retail copy of the game.

According to Digital Spy, the online retailer told affected customers in an email: "It's been brought to our attention that a small number of orders for this item may have been delivered without the advertised game, Nintendo Land, due to supplier error.

"In the event that your order was one of the small number missing the game, please use the following code and instructions below, to download the game."

Wii U sales reportedly hit 40,000 units during the system's first 48 hours of availability in UK.

A number of multiformat titles saw a sales boost thanks to the release of Wii U editions last Friday, but the highest new entries on the UK all formats chart which were exclusive to Nintendo's console were Nintendo Land at No.11, New Super Mario Bros. U at No.14 and ZombiU at No.17.
