As much as we love the modern Nintendo consoles, part of our hearts still yearns for the old purple handbag. Our Gamecube top 25 is home to some of the best games ever seen on a Ninty console, from Zelda Wind Waker to the fabled Capcom Five. The cube may be done, but our list isn't. Okay, so nowadays it's on every format under the sun, but at the time this was the big GameCube exclusive. Resident Evil 4 tore down everything we knew about survival horror and replaced it with a terrifying new world order - one of super-quick zombies and an ingenious control system that restricted your movements and left you in a constant state of panic.
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Controversy! This oceanic adventure introduced us to Chibi-Link. The bile stopped as soon as fans set sail - it was yet another amazing Zelda.
As smooth, fast and explosive as, er, a silk-lined firework [Sacked - Ed!]. Tough, too. Hopefully we'll complete it before the Wii U sequel. Maybe...
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat
Controlled entirely by the doomed DK bongo peripheral, this endlessly creative and mirthful platformer served as a dry run for Mario Galaxy.
