Details for Killer7, No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned creator Goichi Suda's latest project, Killer is Dead, have finally been released.
The latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu (via Kotaku) reveals the game to be typically bonkers Suda effort.
Killer Is Dead stars Mondo Zappa, a 35 year old American executioner that abides by a strict suit-and-tie policy. Zappa works for an agency managed by Brian Rozen, a world-class executioner with an augmented body.
Fiddling with your form seems common in Killer Is Dead, as Zappa's own left hand is a gun that can also transform into a drill and is used primarily to absorb an enemy's blood for a "Adrenalin Burst" attack.
Working alongside Zappa is Vivienne Squall, a 25-year old British girl with a fondness for cat-suits and Mika Takekawa, who is Zappa's assistant, but also lives with him. Among her notable qualities are the ability to make soft boiled eggs, his favorite food.
The game's antagonist is Victor, who can manipulate emotions through song. He's appropriately styled to look like classic composer, except has a green face and glowing eyes.
Suda has previously said, Killer is Dead will retain "the essence of Killer 7 and No More Heroes", though it is not a sequel to either. The game's many stylistic and thematic similarities with Suda's previous efforts certainly invite comparisons.
Killer Is Dead will be out in Japan on the PS3 and the Xbox 360 this summer.
