DayZ creator Dean Hall has admitted he's "very angry about The War Z" and its glaring similarities to his game.
"I am angry about the WarZ. I'm very angry," he said in response to questioning on Reddit.
"I'm quite hurt personally because anyone can see how similar the words are, and while the average gamer knows the difference individual people don't. I've had family members/close friends mistake the difference and confront me about what they believed was unethical behavior they thought I was making," he added.
"I really don't think anyone can understand just quite how exasperated that can make you feel when you've gambled everything on something, put your whole self and reputation on the line. So it hasn't made my life very pleasant and I disagree entirely with the conduct and how consumers have been treated," said Hall.
Valve removed The War Z from sale on Steam following customer uproar over allegations of missing content and 'false advertising'.
Valve apologized to gamers, calling The War Z's release 'a mistake', and declaring that it would remain unavailable until the firm has "confidence in a new build". The War Z producer, Sergey Titov, apologised publicly for being 'arrogant and blinded by the early success of The War Z'.
