Publishers En Masse Entertainment and Gameforge have announced that fantasy MMO Tera will make the jump to free-to-play from February 5.
Now titled Tera: Rising, the move to free-to-play will also bring with it new content, including a new competitive dungeon, a player-versus-player arena and two new high-level factions.
A maintenance period is scheduled from 12:01am PST (8:01am UK time) February 4 to 7am February 5 (11pm February 4 UK).
As the developer also explains, "Lake of Tears and Ascension Valley will be on their own matching system for dungeons and battlegrounds. Character transfers (free for a limited time) will be available among Mount Tyrannas, Tempest Reach, and Celestial Hills."
In addition, area chat features will only be available to players level 5 and above, while trade and LFG chats are level 12 and up. Global chat is reserved for players level 20 and above.
