Uncharted 3's 'biggest update yet' due today

Patch 1.17 preps new multiplayer deploy; Free-to-play version mentioned on removed blog post

Naughty Dog is set to deploy the "biggest update to Uncharted 3 Multiplayer yet" today, it's teased on its official website.

An new patch - version 1.17 - was released for the title via PSN yesterday in order to "set up everything" for the mysterious update.

No further details have been offered by the developer, although Sony is said to have mentioned a free-to-play version of the game's multiplayer mode in a PlayStation Blog post, before quickly removing the reference.

This time last year Sony released a free version of Killzone 3's online mode, which allows free access to all maps and DLC up to the rank of Sergeant. To advance beyond that stage and unlock Trophies a fee of $15 is required.
