Activision's shooter moved 2.67 million copies, just ahead of EA's footy game on 2.6 million sales, while third-placed The Dark Knight Rises sold 1.2 million copies, MCV reports.

Games took seven of the top 40 spots on the annual entertainment chart, with Assassin's Creed 3 coming in at No.13, Halo 4 at No.21, Hitman Absolution at No.36, Just Dance 4 at No.37, and Far Cry 3 at No.40.
