E3 2003: NASCAR Thunder 2004 goes round the bend
12th May 2003 | 13:59
NASCAR Thunder 2004 puts you behind the wheel of a car. A very fast car, in a very ovoid oval, in a world where concrete blocks on your shoulder mean the difference between victory and disaster.
The chequered flag or the wall are your options as you race a pack of 42 real-world stars who think for themselves, remember your every move, and aren't afraid to pay you back. Revenge is the order of the day: it may be around the next corner or at the next race, as you scream through 23 authentic Winston Cup tracks or on 11 fantasy tracks.
New to the game is an improved career mode that challenges you to manage sponsors, teams, garages and crews while building a 20-year racing legacy for people to 'ooh' and 'ahh' at the mention of your name.
With NASCAR Thunder 2004 you can go online with the PC and PS2 and go head-to-head, check your ranking and chat with your online racing buddies.
The career mode has been improved thanks to a new and dynamic interface where visual cues guide you through up to 20 successive seasons - you'll be an old man before the end of your career.
With 70 drivers and more than 175 authentic cars, NASCAR Thunder 2004 lets you race for the first time on console against the full 43 real NASCAR Cup drivers and against classic NASCAR legends.
Due for release later this autumn on PC and next-gen console, NASCAR Thunder offers a greater sense of speed than previous NASCAR games, with more trackside detail and lots of visual improvements. We shall see. Brrmm. Brrummmmmmm.
