Arc: Twilight of the Spirits hits PS2

Arc: Twilight of the Spirits is another unfeasibly huge role-playing game, Sony boasting that the title packs in more than sixty hours of play as well as an intriguing storyline, an "innovative" turn-based combat system, and a total of 14 characters with whom to make like Errol Flynn (in the swashbuckling sense, obviously). So what else is new?

In time honoured RPG fashion, you get to take command of improbably named heroes Darc and Kargh (just once we'd like to see a hero called Nigel) on a bid to restore peace to the world - that old chestnut - by collecting some spirit stones, or something.

It all sounds very Tolkienesque. Nevertheless, gamers who find battling ever multiplying processions of unlikely creatures whilst muttering a bunch of incantations an appealing prospect will no doubt find plenty here to amuse. Twilight of the Spirits is set to appear in January 2004.
